Animesh Ghosh is a Senior Research Associate with the Ashoka Centre for People-centric Energy Transition (ACPET) at Ashoka University and is engaged with projects on energy financing, resource efficiency, and social tipping around energy transition.
Prior to this, he worked as an expert in the Gender Responsive budgeting at the Ministry of Women and Child Development (MWCD), the Government of India, and UN Women. Before that, he was the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to the Director General, National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR). He has also served as a Consultant to the District Plan of Action for Children (DPAC) under the Government of West Bengal and UNICEF. Prior to this, he was a Prime Minister’s Rural Development Fellow (PMRDF) under the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, and an Executive (Projects) at Professional Assistance for Development Action (PRADAN).
He was also a Teaching Assistant at IIT Kharagpur and has led projects supported by the Bankura District Administration of the Government of West Bengal on strengthening the three-tier panchayats for sustainable development during his association with IIT Kharagpur from August 2018 to July 2023.
Currently, he is pursuing a PhD in Circular Economy from the Rajendra Mishra School of Engineering Entrepreneurship (RMSoEE), Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur). He has earned a Master of Science in Development Practice from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, and a Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering from Techno India Salt Lake, Kolkata, under WBUT.
