Deepankar Basu is Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Ohio State University, a M.A. and M.Phil. in Economics from the Jawaharlal Nehru University, and a B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. His current research interests include empirical macroeconomics, development economics, and Marxian political economy.
