Eshita Gupta is Assistant Professor at the Department of Policy Studies, TERI University. She is also a Research Affiliate at the Centre for Research on Economics of Climate, Food, Energy and Environment. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi Centre, a Master's degree in Economics from Delhi School of Economics, and an undergraduate degree in Economics from Hansraj College, Delhi University.
After completing her masters in 2005, she worked as a Research Associate at TERI for two and a half years. Her main research interests include energy and environmental economics, development economics, and applied econometrics. Her recent research studies the impact of climate change on food prices, poverty and electricity demand in India. She is the author of many published papers and book chapters. Her recent research has been published in the Journal of Energy Economics, Energy Policy and the books published by Routledge. She is also a part of the consultancy project commissioned by the Central Electricity Authority of India to forecast electricity demand in India.
