Isabel Pimenta is an economist, currently working at the European Commission in the Directorate General for International Cooperation and Development. She has experience in development policy in the areas of budget support as an aid modality, domestic revenue mobilisation, public finance management, tax avoidance and illicit financial flows, aid effectiveness and transparency. At the beginning of 2016 she has assisted Prof. Jean Drèze in Ranchi, Jharkhand, where she was involved in analysis and field activities including surveys on the Indian National Food Security Act and the Public Distribution System. Prior to joining the European Commission, she has worked for over four years in the energy sector in a Portuguese company. She holds an M.A. in European Economic Studies from College of Europe, an M.A. International Relations from Technical University of Lisbon and a B.A. Economics from University of Porto.
