Sangram Gaikwad is an officer of the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) of 1994 batch. He has worked in the Income Tax (IT) Department in various capacities for two decades. He has been associated with the project of Business Process Re-engineering of the IT Department at the field level.
He holds a B.E. (Bachelor of Engineering) from College of Engineering, Pune, and M.A. Sociology from TMV (Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth), Pune.
Before joining the government service, he had worked in an NGO in the area of watershed development. He has edited a book, Selected Essays of Dr S.S. Kalbag on Education, Technology & Rural Development, published by Vigyan Ashram in 2010. His areas of interest are governance, tax administration, tax policy, Indian modernity, nativism, and ancient Indian history.
