Shivakumar Jolad is an associate professor at Flame University. Prior to this he was an assistant professor of physics and social science at Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN). Jolad received his Ph.D. in physics and doctoral minor in demography from Pennsylvania State University. Jolad teaches courses on education policy, demographic methods, and physics courses at graduate and undergraduate level at IITGN. Jolad is one of the co-authors of Ahmedabad District Human Development Report 2016. He has worked on impact evaluation of projects such as Eureka Quality Improvement Program (EQUIP) and Pratham Open School Education (POSE). Apart from academic work, Jolad has worked with several non-governmental organisations (NGOs) such as PHM (People’s Health Movement)-India, AID (Association for India's Development)-India and Pratham on projects related to public health and elementary education.
