Sohini Paul is a Senior Programme Officer at Population Council, Delhi. Her primary research interests include gender, health, food security and political economy. In her current research project, she seeks to deepening the knowledge of maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) in India through in-depth analyses of various relevant datasets. In the past, she worked on different aspects of food security programme in India, income inequality and health status, women empowerment, labour force participation, political participation, and domestic violence. She has been involved with primary surveys conducted to evaluate different government welfare schemes.

Sohini received her Ph.D. degree from Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research (IGIDR), India. She was a post-doctoral fellow at University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada. Prior to joining Population Council, Sohini worked as a fellow at the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), Delhi. She served as a ICCR Chair Professor at Norman Paterson School of International Affairs, Carleton University, Canada.
