Upamanyu Datta is an Economist with the Social Observatory, a research unit housed in the Development Economics Group at the World Bank. His research interests are in development economics, and leveraging technology for better management of development projects. He holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Resource Economics from University of Maryland, College Park, an M.A. Economics and a B.A. Economics from Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
