Ananya Kotia is a pre-doctoral fellow in the economics department at the University of Chicago. His research interests are in empirical work in the fields of public finance, development, and the Indian economy. He was member of research team for the Economic Survey, 2016-17 at the office of the Chief Economic Adviser, Government of India, and worked for a Finance Ministry committee to review India’s fiscal rules. While reading for an M.Phil. in Economics at the University of Oxford he worked on subnational fiscal rules at the Fiscal Affairs Department at the International Monetary Fund. He also holds B.A. degrees in economics from the University of Cambridge (Inlaks scholar) and the University of Delhi.
