Misha Sharma is Practice Head with the Household Finance Research Initiative at Dvara Research. She has several years of policy research experience in the area of financial inclusion. Her current role at Dvara focusses on identifying key research gaps and opportunities in the field of Household Finance and building demand-side perspectives on household-level barriers, preferences, and contexts in accessing and using formal financial services. Prior to this, she worked as a Senior Research Manager with the Centre for Social Impact and Philanthropy at Ashoka University, working on the state of the Indian philanthropy sector. Misha also has six years of experience working in financial inclusion at IFMR LEAD – running and managing two large scale randomised controlled trials on the impact of access to financial services on low-income households in rural Tamil Nadu. During her time with IFMR LEAD, she was awarded the CFI Accion Fellowship to conduct research on the role of agent networks in transitioning low-income households to digital financial platforms. She has also worked with Goldman Sachs for two years as an Operations Analyst. Misha holds a Masters in Economics from the University of Edinburgh and a Bachelors in Economics from Stella Maris College, Chennai.
