Monami Dasgupta is the Head of Research at D91 Labs at Setu. Prior to joining Setu, she was a Researcher at the Household Finance Research Initiative at Dvara Research. She holds an M.Phil. degree in Development Studies from Tata Institute of Social Sciences and a Masters in Economics from Mumbai School of Economics and Public Policy at Mumbai University. Monami brings her expertise to understanding low-income households and their financial lives. She has several years of experience in the field of research related to financial inclusion, household finance, and financial portfolios of low-income households. During her time at Dvara Research, she was awarded a fellowship by the Bharat Inclusion Initiative by CIIE-IIM (A). Through this fellowship, she studied the financial lives of urban poor slum-dwellers and examine possible gaps and solutions that could improve their financial situation. Monami began her career as an Assistant Manager (Economist) for IDBI Bank.
