Monica Singhal is an Assistant Professor (with tenure) at the Department of Economics, University of California, Davis. Before this she was Assistant Professor of Public Policy at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government. She is a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). Her fields of interest include public finance and labour economics. Her current research focuses on behavioural responses to taxation, and the determinants of local public spending patterns. She is the recipient of the 2005 National Tax Association Outstanding Dissertation Award. She received a B.A. and Ph.D. in economics from Harvard University.
