Nisha Malhotra

Nisha Malhotra is an instructor of Economics at the University of British Columbia. She received a B.A. in Economics from Miranda House, an M.A. in Economics from Delhi School of Economics and a Ph.D. in economics from University of Maryland (College Park). Dr. Malhotra's work is that of an inter-disciplinary social scientist with a strong interest in questions related to Population, Gender and Health. Her recent work focuses on maternal and child health in Asia (mostly India) and Africa. Her other areas of research interests include International trade and development. She has also worked with the Indian council of research on international economic relations (New Delhi) and the World Bank (Washington DC). She was brought up in Bangladesh, Thailand, England and India and now resides in Canada with her family.
