Wes Yin

Wes Yin is an Associate Professor at the School of Public Policy and Anderson School of Management at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He is also a Faculty Research Fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER). Prior to coming to UCLA, Yin served in the Obama Administration as Acting Assistant Secretary of Economic Policy at the Department of Treasury, and as Senior Economist in the White House Council of Economic Advisers. He was also an Assistant Professor at the University of Chicago and Boston University, and a Robert Wood Johnson Scholar in Health Policy at Harvard University.
He received his Ph.D. in economics from Princeton University. Yin's research focuses broadly on the areas of healthcare, economic development, industrial organisations, and public finance. Currently, Yin is studying a variety of topics, including US healthcare reform; the relationship between economic growth and the development of markets; and how information, income distribution and competition impact the delivery of healthcare in developed and developing countries.
