Anil Kumar Kanungo is currently Professor and Area Chair in the Department of Economics at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management (LBSIM), Delhi. He has a Masters, M. Phil. and Ph. D. from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and has more than three decades of experience in teaching, research, and consultancy in the areas of economics, international trade, and business.
Prior to joining LBSIM, he spent more than two decades at the senior faculty-level at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) New Delhi where he taught macroeconomics, international economics, and conducted research in the areas of international trade and business. He has conducted research in WTO issues and international trade for the Department of Commerce, Government of India, and he has also undertaken consultancy roles for the UNESCAP, ARTNet, ICRIER etc. He was instrumental in designing trade policies for the Indo-Israel FTA along with Trade Policy Division at Department of Commerce, Government of India. He currently writes a column for The Financial Express and The Hindu Business Line.
