Zakaria Siddiqui is Associate Professor at Jamia Millia Islamia. Prior to this he was Associate Professor at Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation. He is also Adjunct Fellow at the University of South Australia, Adelaide. His research and teaching focus on contemporary themes of public policy debates in India, such as sustainable delivery of modern energy services to Indian households, the dual burden of malnutrition in India, the calorie ‘puzzle’, declining participation of women in the labour market, the role of scientific diaspora in development, democracy, and marginalisation of minorities. His research has found its way into reputed academic journals such as World Development, Journal of Development Studies, Health Policy and Planning, Public Health and Nutrition and Energy Policy.
