Rajesh Khar is Copy Editor (Hindi) for Ideas for India. Rajesh has been an editor, translator, researcher, trainer and communications person for most of his life. He has been supervising book and content creation in many Indian languages since the beginning of his career as a columnist and subeditor, which progressed further during a decade of work as an editor with Pratham Books and StoryWeaver. He has been conducting workshops on creative writing, translation and languages.
Adhering to the WHO guidelines, Rajesh has co-designed a clean delivery kit, NewBorn, for PSI India. He has also designed a few commercial products and product campaigns for various organisations including PSI (India), Mayer, Himani UK and Sivananda Biotech, and has been a part of the core team for creation, dissemination, and M & E of the first CSR Guidelines introduced by the DPE Govt. of India in 2011. His association with organisations like SCERT Delhi, SSA Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, NBT, Pratham Education Foundation, WWF India, IFES, CARE India Solutions for Sustainable Development, Room to Read' India, ASER, Google India etc. give him a diverse set of professional skills in the social domain.
Rajesh is an ardent nature and performing arts lover. He has coordinated and conducted outreach activities for the Jaipur Literature Festival, Bookaroo, ND World Book Fair, Samanvay festival of Indian Languages etc. With an UG in science, a bachelor's in History and Literature, a diploma in mass communication, a PG diploma in environment and sustainable development, an MBA in HR and a USAID funded research project in human behaviour-domestic violence in rural India for IFES under his belt, Rajesh strives to learn something new everyday and become a better human being.
