This project involves the development of a spatially-disaggregated Indian Climate Early Warning System. For any given current weather realisation, the Early Warning System will produce maps that display locations of risks across India in various economic sectors. Based on empirically-founded climate response functions for each sector - agriculture, health, labour markets, energy, crime and conflict, it will serve as a powerful tool to inform policymakers regarding where and how to direct resources to cope with extreme weather or temperature shocks.
