Debasis Bandyopadhyay is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics, University of Auckland. He completed his PhD in Macroeconomics from the University of Minnesota, and previously he graduated with an MA in Econometrics from the University of Florida and a BSc (Hons.) Economics from Presidency College, University of Calcutta. His main research interest focuses on the relationship between the distribution of human capital and economic growth.His recent research interests include macroeconomic theories of inequality and productivity growth with a particular emphasis on the evolution of women's rights and gender inequality to expand the Unified Growth Theory of Oded Galor (2011) and others.
