Janneke Pieters is Associate Professor at Wageningen University. Prior to this she was a Research Associate at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) in Germany, where she is one of the core members of the Employment and Development Program. She obtained her Ph.D. in economics from the University of Groningen Growth and Development Center. Her research interests are in the fields of development, labour, and international economics, with a particular focus on women’s labour market outcomes, education, and inequality.
