Niels-Hugo Blunch is Professor of Economics, Washington and Lee University, where he teaches econometrics and courses related to health, education, and economic development. Previously, Prof. Blunch worked as a Consultant (Economist) at the World Bank, in Washington, DC. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from The George Washington University in 2006. His research interests include labour, health, education, development, transition economics, and population economics/economic demography. His research has been published in journals such as Economic Development and Cultural Change, Education Economics, Journal of Development Studies, World Bank Economic Review, Review of Economics of the Household, and World Development, as well as numerous chapters in edited volumes. Prof. Blunch is also a Fulbright Scholar (2019-20). He also continues consulting with the World Bank, where most recently he served as the Lead Consultant on the country case study for Ghana related to the Bank’s Human Capital Project.
