Rashmi Barua works at the Centre for International Trade and Development, Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her areas of research include economics of education and labour economics, with a specific interest in gender, early childhood human capital investments (health and education) and female labour supply. Her research has been a mix of methodological contributions, including randomised evaluations, and empirical applications that are guided by sound economic theory. She is an invited researcher at JPAL, a research fellow at the Environment for Development and a core member of the Society for Economics Research in India (SERI). She received a PhD in Economics from Boston University in 2009.
