Ruchira Bhattamishra is a researcher at the Centre for Development Research, Sustainability and Technical Advancement (C-DRASTA), a research and policy think-tank that focuses on socioeconomic development in India. She studied at Bryn Mawr College, USA, the London School of Economics and Cornell University, where she received a Ph.D. in Economics, with a specialisation in development economics. As part of her Ph.D. dissertation project evaluating community grain banks, she did field research in rural Odisha, India. Her research interests include the economic development of indigenous populations, financial inclusion, food security, evaluation of economic development programmes, and how behavioural economics can inform development policy.
