I4I's 2024 Highlights

In 2024, Ideas for India featured 196 research-based Articles, opinion-based Perspectives, and Notes From the Field, of which 57 were available in Hindi; hosted content from three conferences, and introduced two new content types. Some of the highlights are shared in this post.

In 2024, we hosted an edition of I4I Conversations featuring Sonalde Desai and Farzana Afridi discussing the challenges and opportunities pertaining to India’s demographic transition - the Conversation, and an accompanying synopsis, can be viewed below:

I4I Conversations: Managing India’s demographic transition

There have been a number of social and political developments in India this year - in June, a new government was formed at the Centre; in July, the Economic Survey of India, 2023-24 and Union Budget 2024-25 were released; in August, the rape and murder of an on-duty woman doctor at a Kolkata hospital sparked protests across the country. These themes and topics featured in many I4I posts, a selection of which is presented below:

Throughout the year, we also featured Perspectives and Notes from the Field, providing a platform for experts and practitioners to share their opinions and experiences - some of which are below:

We rounded 2024 off with the 3rd Ashok Kotwal Memorial Lecture, delivered by Rohini Pande on ‘Voluntary Carbon Markets: Challenges and Opportunities in Developing Economies’ A recording of the event will be available on the I4I website and YouTube channel in 2025 - stay tuned!
