Anirudh Shingal is a Senior Fellow at the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER), New Delhi; a Programme Associate of the Global Governance Programme at the European University Institute (EUI), Florence, and a Fellow of the World Trade Institute (WTI), University of Bern. He has also been a Jean Monnet Fellow at the EUI, and a Senior Research Fellow and Lecturer in Economics at the WTI.
A Ph.D. in economics from the University of Sussex, Dr. Shingal has close to 20 years of progressively responsible experience in the empirical and policy analysis of trade and development issues. He has over 70 publications on trade in services, government procurement, trade and exchange rates, trade and labour, trade and environment, standards and trade, investment, and on the impact assessment of preferential trade agreements.
His academic work has been accepted by the World Bank Research Observer, the Review of International Economics, the Review of World Economics, the World Economy, the Review of Development Economics, and the World Trade Review amongst other journals. He has also authored reports for various international organisations including the World Bank, World Trade Organization (WTO), Department for International Development (DfID), European Commission, Asian Development Bank (ADB), United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), International Trade Centre (ITC), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the Commonwealth Secretariat.
Anirudh graduated 'summa cum laude' from the MILE programme at the WTI, and also holds a Master's degree in economics from the Delhi School of Economics (DSE). His undergraduate degree was in economics (hons.) from St Stephen’s College, Delhi University.
