Gita Gopinath is Professor of Economics at Harvard University. She holds a B.A. from the University of Delhi (1992), M.A. from the Delhi School of Economics (1994), M.A. from the University of Washington (1996), and a Ph.D from Princeton University (2001). She is a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston and a research associate with the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER), for the programmes in Economic Fluctuations and Growth, International Finance and Macroeconomics, and Monetary Economics. She holds editorial positions with American Economic Review, the Journal of International Economics, the I.M.F. Economic Review, and Macroeconomics and Finance in Emerging Market Economies. Her research interests are in international macroeconomics and trade. In 2011, she was chosen as one of the Young Global Leaders with the World Economic Forum. Her research has been funded by the National Science Foundation.
