Dr Sorsa, a Finnish national, has worked at the OECD since 2007 as the Head of Division for Australia, Colombia, Greece, India, EU/Euroarea, Luxembourg, and Slovenia. For the previous 14 years she worked for the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mostly on emerging markets in Eastern Europe and Latin America including as mission chief for Honduras, Guyana, Slovenia and Serbia, resident representative in Bulgaria, and economist for Chile. She also worked at the World Bank between 1985 and 1994 mainly with Africa, the Baltics and Thailand, and at the OECD DAC between 1988-1990. She has a Ph.D. in international economics from the Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva,Switzerland. Her publications include several papers on policy issues in developed and emerging market countries.
