Prabhu Pingali is Professor of International Development Economics at Cornell University and the Founding Director of the Tata-Cornell Institute for Agriculture and Nutrition (TCI). During his four-decade-long career, he has held Director-level positions with leading agricultural development organizations, including the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and the CGIAR. He has been elected Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and the American Association for Agricultural Economics (AAEA). He is a member of the U.S. National Academy of Sciences and India’s National Academy of Agricultural Sciences. Dr. Pingali has published 14 books and over 200 journal articles.
