Devyani Pande

Devyani Pande is a Researcher at Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER). She has interned with the Planning Commission and UNICEF under the Knowledge Community on Children (KCCI) in India Internship Programme in the past. Devyani received her B.A. in Economics from Miranda House, Delhi University and a Masters in Economics (with specialisation in World Economy) from Jawaharlal Nehru University. Her research interests are in the areas of international trade and development economics.

Turning to the pharmaceutical sector for enhancing India-Pakistan trade
Various efforts have been made to normalise trade relations between India and Pakistan in the past few years; yet, several barriers remain. This column examines the trade potential in pharmaceuticals – a fast growing sector in world trade – between the two countries. It finds that there is huge, untapped potential in Indo-Pak pharmaceuticals trade, and suggests policy measures to propel trade and investment in the sector.
