Gurpreet Singh

Gurpreet Singh is a Programme Coordinator (Monitoring and Evaluation) with the Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society at the state Project Management Unit office of a World Bank funded and Government of Jharkhand supported project. Previously, he worked with ICRW (International Centre for Research on Women) as a technical expert on gender and violence. He has also worked with organisations such as the Learning Links Foundation as a Regional Manager and Child In Need Institute (CINI) as a Senior Programme Officer.
His areas of expertise include monitoring and evaluation, programme management, education, child protection, community health, gender and violence issues. He has a post graduate degree in Rural Development from the Xavier’s Institute of Social Services (XISS) Ranchi, Jharkhand.

वर्ष 2022 तक किसानों की आय को दोगुना करने के केंद्र सरकार के लक्ष्य की दिशा में कार्य करने के लिए झारखंड राज्य सरकार ने 2017 में जोहार परियोजना आरंभ की। इस लेख में खनूजा एवं अन्य ने इस परियोजना के तहत शामिल किए गए ग्रामीण उत्पादक परिवारों के एक वृहद आधार-रेखा सर्वेक्षण के परिणामों को प्रस्तुत किया है और उच्च मूल्य वाली कृषि की ओर बदलाव को सुविधाजनक बनाने की आवश्यकता पर प्रकाश डाला है।

Improving farmers’ income: Learnings from a survey in Jharkhand
To work towards the central government’s goal of doubling farmers’ incomes by 2022, the state government of Jharkhand initiated the ‘Jharkhand Opportunities for Harnessing Rural Growth’ project in 2017. In this note, Khanuja et al. present results of a large-scale baseline survey of rural producer households that was undertaken under the project and highlight the need to facilitate the shift towards high-value agriculture.
