Hammad holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Warwick and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Delhi. During his master’s, he has worked on projects measuring intergenerational income mobility in India based on religion and caste and analysing the impact of oil rents on corruption for OPEC countries.

Currently, he is broadening his research interests by diving deep into Economic History and African Economics.

Construction sector and air pollution: Evidence from India

The construction sector has emerged as a significant yet often overlooked contributor to worsening air quality in India. Exploring the link between construction activities and air pollution, this article shows that heavy-duty diesel equipment used on construction sites lead to NO₂ emissions.
