Ishank Daral

Ishank Daral is a Senior Behavioural Data Scientist at Centre for Social and Behaviour Change (CSBC) and heads the data analytics team at CSBC. Along with supporting CSBC in analysing various public health projects, he also works at the intersection of behavioural science and data science and is leading CSBC’s Machine Learning (ML) Initiative to leverage ML and artificial intelligence (AI) as new-age research methods. Ishank holds a Masters in Behavioural Science from the London School of Economics (LSE), and a Bachelors in Civil Engineering from BITS, Pilani.
Covid-19: Identifying and addressing vaccine hesitancy using ‘personas’
Vaccine hesitancy poses a threat to India’s fight against Covid-19, and given the different motivations that drive vaccine hesitancy, a one-size-fits-all solution may not be feasible. In this post, Daral and Shashidhara use data from a Facebook survey – conducted in partnership with the University of Maryland – to identify the barriers and beliefs driving vaccine hesitancy, by segmenting the vaccine hesitant into ‘personas’ based on their psycho-behavioural profiles.
