Kavita Wankhade

Kavita began her career as an architect, only to realise that her primary interest lay in cities. Through her work, she is interested in understanding how the natural and built environments intersect with the socio-economic context. With a firm belief to engage with both academics and practice, her work cuts across research, teaching, consulting and policy analysis. She has worked on a wide range of areas including environmental services, urban sustainability, service delivery and dynamics of urban growth. Her recent research projects have examined the evidence of sustainability in JNNURM, and drivers of urban change in three Indian cities. Kavita currently works at the Indian Institute for Human Settlements.
