Pushkar Pahwa

Pushkar Pahwa holds a Bachelors in Engineering (BE) from Thapar University, Patiala and is currently pursuing Masters in Development Practices from Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai as a part of the Prime Minister's Rural Development Fellowship (PMRDF) Programme of the Ministry of Rural Development. He worked as Assistant Manager (Network Operations) with Idea Cellular Ltd. prior to joining PMRDF. Currently he is placed in Purulia district of West Bengal.

With a majority of the population living in rural areas in India, rural development is key to the development of the country. Based on his experience of working closely with the district administration in Purulia district in West Bengal, Pushkar Pahwa discusses the issues in the implementation of rural development programmes on the ground, and makes suggestions to improve their effectiveness.
