Shafin Naik

Shafin Naik is currently a Research Assistant at the India Development Foundation (IDF) and an incoming Ph.D. Student at CERGE-EI. He completed a Masters in Specialised Economic Analysis from Barcelona Graduate School of Economics and a Bachelors in Economics from Shiv Nadar University. His current research interests include economics of innovation, political economics, and public policy. At IDF, he works on the use of novel data in informing public policy.

Covid-19 and mobility: A behavioural perspective
The imposition of a nationwide lockdown in March 2020 to check the spread of Covid-19, sparked debates on the necessity and effectiveness of such measures due to resulting economic hardships. In this post, Chadha and Naik examine the correlation between Covid-19 spread and mobility in the district of Pune in Maharashtra state, between January and July 2021.
