Shweta Saini

Shweta Saini is an agricultural trade and policy researcher with close to 15 years of experience in industry chambers, academics, and business, she has been widely writing in renowned economic dailies of the country. She has authored and co-authored several research studies on various topics on Indian agriculture like international agricultural trade, agricultural policy, and food security. Her research has been published in various international and national books, and as working papers and reports. She is an alumnus of Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi.
Higher poultry prices and policy (or data) gap
Food and agricultural prices have been rising over the past two years – particularly so for pulses and livestock. In this post, Saini and Das track livestock and feed prices, and identify the key drivers of the recent increases. In their view, policy responses in the form of imports could have been timelier if official data on production were more reliable and robust.
