Stutilina Pal

Stutilina Pal is a Programme Manager at SRIJAN and leads the operations in central India. She holds Masters in Gender and Development from the Institute of Development Studies, UK, and has been a recipient of Chevening Scholarship. With more than 14 years of experience of working at the ground level, she currently leads BIWAL (Bundelkhand Initiatives for Water Agriculture and Livelihood), a large-scale community-driven project. Her interest lies in gender equality, public water management, and ensuring women’s empowerment through their participation in grassroots democracy.

Challenges faced by community health workers in Covid-19 containment efforts
Although community health workers have been the backbone of the fight against Covid-19 in India, there has not been sufficient focus on their well-being and working conditions. Based on a survey in the Bundelkhand region, among the poorest regions in India, Saha et al., examine the perspectives and experiences of community health workers, and the socioeconomic hurdles faced by them during the pandemic.
