Sherry Xin Li

Dr. Sherry Li is an Associate Professor of economics in the School of Economic, Political and Policy Sciences at University of Texas at Dallas. Her research is primarily experimental and behavioural, in areas of broadly defined public economics, labour economics, and organisational design. Her current research has two streams. In the first, she draws on theories and methods from economics and psychology to study how social identity affects individual decision-making and preferences, for example, social preferences, trust, cooperation, market transactions, contributions to public goods, and tax attitudes. In the second, she studies whether and how individuals contribute to support public goods. Her teaching interests include experimental economics, behavioural economics, public economics, and microeconomics. She received her Ph.D. from the University of Michigan in 2006. Her research on social identity has been supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
